First Birthday Photography in Milton Keynes – Celebrate the Big ONE

 Your first birthday session takes place in my relaxed home photography space in Milton Keynes, capturing your baby’s personality with natural, playful portraits, with or without a cake smash.


The ideal time to book is around 11–12 months, when your baby is ready to celebrate turning one.

What Happens: 

- Get in touch via the contact form or email 

- We’ll chat about timings and cake preferences (if you'd like to include one) - - Pay a deposit to secure your session date
- You’ll receive an email with outfit guidance and what to bring on the day, including cake tips if needed

- I’ll guide you through a mix of portraits and playful moments, including the cake smash if booked 

- Sessions are baby-led, mess-friendly, and always full of smiles

What Happens: 

- Your beautifully edited gallery will be ready to view within 4 weeks

We had a lovely First Birthday Cake shoot with Charlotte. Charlotte was quick at communication and so energetic on the day, which made our little girl happy and involved and created some great shots! Thank you for these gorgeous memories.

1ST BIRTHDAY shoot faqs| CHARLOTTE CASTLE PHOTOGRAPHY

I advise booking as early as possible due to limited availability. The best time to photograph your little one is around 4 weeks before their birthday, or up to 1 month after if you're marking the milestone a little later. 

1st birthday sessions typically run for 45–60 minutes, giving us plenty of time to capture a mix of milestone portraits and cake smash moments. 

Yes, you’re welcome to bring your own neutral buttercream cake. Or, for £30, I offer a "bare style" cake from a trusted 5★ MK baker—I'll collect it in time for the shoot. 

That’s absolutely fine! I offer a mess-free milestone option instead, which can include family and sibling portraits in place of the cake smash. 

You’ll receive styling guidance upon booking, and I have a selection of adorable outfits for the cake smash. We’ll have time for two outfit changes, so feel free to bring something special too. 

No stress! I work at your baby’s pace, with plenty of time for breaks and cuddles. These sessions are relaxed and designed to be fun for both of you.
