A little bit about me...

I'm Charlotte, or you can call me Char! 

I’m a wife and a mum. I love chocolate - I have a real sweet tooth! I like to make people laugh - I think I can be funny, but my husband might disagree with me…

I discovered my love for photography during upper school, when my final GCSE assignment involved photography and the process of editing. I went to college and achieved my first year of qualifications, but (being totally transparent here) I dropped out after a year because I lost confidence in myself, so left and went to work in retail.

Despite this change, photography never left me. I've always been one for taking pictures – whether that’s on holidays with my family or taking photos of my friends with their horses. Whenever I’m out and about, I often have to stop and take a photo because the light is hitting that view just right (whilst saying sorry to my husband for delaying the journey AGAIN).

Heading to the beginning of 2019, I purchased my first professional camera for our 3-week travels to Bali for mine and my husband’s honeymoon. By the end of the trip, I thought to myself, ‘what have I got to lose?’ Let's get back into what I've always loved and had a passion for. So, by the end of 2019, my photography business began...

I fell pregnant in April 2020, and with the world stopping due to the pandemic, it made running the business a little tricky – I was however able to do a couple of photoshoots during my pregnancy. When the world then opened for a short time before the second lockdown hit, our daughter arrived. By the time she was 5 months old, I was back to carrying out photoshoots to capture memories and build my portfolio… and now here we are, over 4 years later, I'm pursuing the job of my dreams.

I genuinely can't believe that I get to call this work, because it really doesn't feel like it! I am a creative person through and through – I absolutely love the entire photography process… from meeting my clients and getting to know them on a personal level, to carrying out the photoshoots and editing the photos, and then of course, showing my clients the photos. Every single part feeds my creative mind and fills my cup to the brim!

Oh, did I forget to mention... this isn't my only job. As well as being a mum, I also have a full-time job working for The Open University Library, where I focus on all-things design, social media, print work and event support… and they all combine to create my dream job! Some might think I'm crazy, but I just like to keep busy.

So, enough about my life, because really, it's all about YOU and why you are here visiting my photography website…

My main focus as a photographer is building a great relationship with my clients – their experience from the initial hello to sending the final gallery and even beyond… you can't get rid of me that easily! I like to keep in contact with my clients via social media afterwards… I'm a chatter box if you hadn’t already realised! I promise to be your biggest cheerleader during your shoot, a supportive hand for keeping a sibling entertained why you tend to nappy changes or feeds during your shoot. Whatever it is, I'm here to help, whilst of course capturing beautiful milestones in your life for you to cherish forever.

For me, I want you to be able to still feel the moment that you see in the photos as if it happened yesterday.
